The Operation
Poppy has been assessed by Pip Boydell (CertVOphthal MRCVS) based at Animal Medical Centre in Thurnscoe, Near Barnsley, South Yorkshire who has confirmed that Poppy has cataracts but is a suitable candidate for an operation which can remove them.
Pip has confirmed that the operation has a 95% success rate. The operation involves breaking up the cataracts and using suction to remove it.
Following the operation Poppy will need ongoing care and treatment for the rest of her life to prevent her eyes getting infected.
